I’m still a lousy poet, but my points are obvious here.

Before I go on, I do not support the U.S. government getting militarily involved (overtly or covertly like CIA-wise) in another war.

It’s likely that someone will comment about that, so I wish to clear that up.

Unfortunately, it is very likely that the U.S. is secretly involved in some way already, and as history proves, that is not beneficial in the long run. ...Still, Bashar al-Assad’s regime and any terrorist groups (such as al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, etc.) operating within the country are even more terrible.

Debating me or other DA members here is fine, but I would truly appreciate it if you strive for accuracy to support your positions instead of arguing for the sake of it. That’s pointless to me.

If you would like to help give humanitarian aid to victims (and refugees) of the Syrian war, please donate to the following charities:

It disturbs me greatly when I see how callous some people can be about war and what it does to people.

In case some have forgotten, or choose to ignore it, THIS IS WHAT WAR HAS DONE: [[Warning: Graphic Imagery]]

Most of the country (especially within the cities’ limits) is basically a graveyard and a bombed out shell.

It will take DECADES to be restored, and the dead can never be brought back.
Part of the destruction has spilled into Lebanon, Israel, and Jordan, bringing thousands of refugees with it.

And Syria is only one nation out of many, unfortunately.

Egypt has fallen back past square one and is worse off than before, Tunisia and Libya are treading carefully, attempting to establish a secular government-- people are still being killed by the dozen every week in Afghanistan and Iraq. Anyone else in the crossfire of a Pakistan drone strike is considered part of “collateral damage.”

The Russian military and Blackwater mercenaries have invaded Crimea, threatening Ukraine with war (even though Ukraine has not instigated Russia), and Venezuelan citizens are protesting political corruption and food shortages.

...Sometimes, it feels like the world has gone mad a long time ago, relapsing into psychosis again and again.

But we should never forget that there are still good people out there who are working hard to help others.

People develop a robot that goes out to assist wounded comrades: (translate from Arabic) www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgT4lX… That’s incredibly badass, innovative, and helpful! I really hope there will be more of this.
